In blast freezing storage, insulation panels are thicker than those used in conventional cold rooms. Most panels have a thickness of 150 mm or 200 mm. Polyurethane or PIR panels deliver excellent thermal performance and reduce energy losses. To ensure durability, the panel surfaces are typically made of galvanized or stainless steel. These panels withstand extreme temperatures better than standard cold rooms panels.
The condenser unit also differs from conventional refrigeration systems. Blast-freezing units employ larger compressors to deliver high cooling capacity. These compressors efficiently remove heat and maintain very low temperatures. The condenser features large heat-exchange surfaces to enhance efficiency. The evaporator, located inside the cold rooms, provides a powerful, high‑velocity airflow, ensuring uniform freezing of products and reducing freezing time.
Cold storage rooms also feature reinforced floors. Many of these floors are constructed with high-strength aluminum panels or slabs. Racks, trays, and bulk-freezing equipment are installed on such floors. The door design provides enhanced insulation and airtight sealing.
