Tanzanian clients visited Dong’an to inspect the modular small cold storage facility.
On July 24, 2025, a customer from Tanzania visited Harbin Dong’an Building Panel Co., Ltd. for a factory tour and on-site inspection focused on modular small cold storage products. Grounded in the customer’s specific product requirements, the two parties engaged in detailed discussions covering product configurations, production capabilities, transportation logistics, and subsequent project supply arrangements.
For small and medium-sized cold-chain projects, large, fixed‑type cold storage facilities are not always necessary. As applications such as food storage, agricultural product preservation, catering distribution, and small‑scale logistics continue to expand, modular compact cold rooms—designed to be configured according to available space and specific usage requirements—offer a more flexible solution for temperature‑controlled storage needs of varying scales.
This visit by the Tanzanian client is intended to gain a deeper understanding of whether these products can meet the needs of local projects. Compared with relying solely on product images, catalogs, and online communication, an on-site inspection of the manufacturing facility allows the client to more directly observe the production process and, in conjunction with real‑world project requirements, discuss refrigeration unit dimensions, panel configurations, and related ancillary products.
At the production site, the Dong’an team presented to the customer the manufacturing and processing procedures for cold storage panels and related products, illustrating key steps such as panel fabrication, dimensional control, and final‑product inspection with reference to actual products. The customer focused on product specifications, production conditions, and supply capabilities, and engaged in discussions regarding potential configuration options for modular small cold storage units.
A key feature of small modular cold storage units is their flexible configurability to suit the project site and storage requirements. For projects with limited space or those requiring rapid deployment, well‑thought‑out dimensions and a high degree of standardization can significantly simplify on‑site installation. Moreover, since cold storage systems must be transported from the manufacturing facility to the project location, packaging of panels, container loading, and protective measures during transit should all be factored into the overall supply plan.
This exchange was not limited to cold storage panels alone. Dong’an is primarily involved in steel structures, building envelope systems, and various cold storage projects, with extensive experience in supplying cold storage panels, cold storage doors, and related enclosure systems. In light of Tanzanian customers’ needs, both parties engaged in further discussions on cold storage envelope configurations, product portfolios, production lead times, and export‑supply arrangements.
For overseas clients, factory audits are a critical step in assessing a supplier’s actual capabilities. By observing the production environment and product‑processing workflows on site, customers can gain a more intuitive understanding of the company’s manufacturing operations. At the same time, face-to-face project discussions help both parties identify potential coordination issues related to product specifications, packaging and logistics, and on‑site installation well in advance.
This visit by the Tanzanian client also presents an opportunity for Dong’an to engage in exchanges on cold-chain projects with the East African market. Tanzania boasts a robust industrial base in agriculture, food processing, and agricultural product distribution, creating genuine demand for temperature-controlled storage facilities throughout the relevant supply chains. For certain small- and medium-sized projects, modular cold storage units can be tailored to suit site conditions and operational requirements, thereby demonstrating strong market adaptability.
Following the visit, both parties will continue technical and commercial discussions based on the project’s progress and further finalize the cold storage product configuration, production schedule, and supply plan. Dong’an will also leverage its extensive experience in cold storage and building envelope projects to provide overseas customers with modular cold storage solutions and supply support that better align with their specific application needs.
