Kazakhstani clients visited Dong’an to inspect the modular cold storage project.
On March 10, 2025, a customer from Kazakhstan visited Harbin Dongan Building Sheets Co., Ltd. for a factory tour and on-site inspection related to a modular cold storage project. The visit was primarily aligned with the customer’s ongoing cold storage initiative, during which both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on cold storage product configurations, enclosure systems, production and supply logistics, as well as key issues requiring attention throughout the project implementation process.
For modular cold storage facilities, the core of the project goes beyond simply supplying a set of cold‑storage panels; it involves integrating the panels, cold‑storage doors, and associated connection and enclosure components to create a fully functional cold‑storage space. Particularly in overseas projects, products must undergo manufacturing, packaging, and transportation before being assembled on site. Consequently, the supplier’s understanding of product compatibility and the project implementation process directly impacts subsequent procurement and construction planning.
This visit by the Kazakhstani client is precisely intended to gain a deeper understanding of these processes through on-site inspection. Compared with relying solely on product documentation and online meetings to evaluate suppliers, a factory tour allows clients to directly observe production conditions and, in conjunction with their own project requirements, discuss product specifications, dimensions, configurations, and delivery arrangements—thereby forming a more concrete assessment of the project’s feasibility.
At the production site, the Dong’an team briefed the customer on the manufacturing processes for cold-storage panels and related building envelope products, and provided hands-on demonstrations of panel fabrication, dimensional control, finished-product inspection, and packaging. The customer focused on gaining insights into the production capacity of cold-storage products and the various configuration options, and engaged in further discussions centered on the project’s specific requirements.
A key focus of the discussion between the two parties was how to configure modular cold storage facilities to meet project site conditions and operational requirements. Unlike large, stationary cold storage units, modular systems typically require a well‑thought‑out layout within constrained spaces, while balancing thermal insulation performance, internal usable space, and on‑site installation efficiency. Therefore, prior to moving into the procurement and manufacturing phases, it is essential to engage in thorough communication regarding the cold storage’s dimensions, panel thickness, door configurations, and connection methods.
Kazakhstan’s climatic conditions also highlight the importance of thermal insulation performance in cold-storage envelope systems. In regions with significant temperature differentials, cold-storage enclosures must not only provide spatial separation but also maintain consistent thermal performance. During on-site discussions, customers, taking into account local project-specific conditions, reviewed relevant product configurations and envelope design solutions.
Dong’an primarily engages in steel‑structure projects, building envelope systems, and various cold‑storage facilities, with extensive experience in supplying cold‑storage panels, doors, and related enclosure systems. Accordingly, this exchange went beyond a focus on individual products, delving into key aspects of project execution, including production lead times, product portfolios, export packaging, logistics and transportation, and on‑site installation.
For overseas clients, factory audits themselves are an essential step in building trust with suppliers. By gaining firsthand insight into the production environment and manufacturing processes, customers can more objectively assess whether a company has the production and delivery capabilities required to meet project specifications. At the same time, face-to-face communication helps both parties clarify technical and commercial details in advance, thereby reducing communication costs arising from information discrepancies during subsequent collaboration.
This visit by the Kazakhstani client also provided Dong’an with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the cold-chain project requirements in the Central Asian market. As the food-processing, agricultural‑product storage, and logistics sectors continue to grow, modular cold storage solutions demonstrate strong adaptability across temperature‑controlled storage applications of varying scales. For projects that demand flexible construction and phased implementation, these products offer more convenient transportation and installation options.
Following the visit, both parties will continue to engage in technical and commercial discussions centered on the modular cold storage project, and will further refine product specifications, production schedules, and supply arrangements as the project progresses. Dong’an will leverage its extensive experience in cold storage and building envelope projects to provide overseas customers with modular cold storage solutions tailored to their specific project requirements, along with comprehensive ancillary support.
